How do equity, diversity, and inclusion impact organizational productivity and employee well-being?

A report by McKinsey found that organizations that lacked diversity were 30% more likely to underperform financially when compared to their counterparts. The absence of a psychologically safe environment for diverse and marginalized employees also impacts organizational productivity. Several studies report a correlation between workplace discrimination and reduced employee well-being.

The Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Foundations workshop helps leaders and their teams establish a baseline understanding of how equity, diversity and inclusion impact organizational outcomes and introduces them to the steps required to build a culture of belonging.

This workshop will cover

Definitions and practical applications of key terms (equity, diversity, inclusion, belonging, anti-racism, accessibility, justice etc.)

An analysis of industry-specific challenges and opportunities for effectively implementing equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives

An interactive action planning session to begin identifying your organization’s equity, diversity and inclusion priorities (Built for your organization option)

Dwaine has spent a decade helping charities, nonprofits, and higher education institutions successfully develop community impact programs, establish employee engagement initiatives, and implement equity, diversity and inclusion policies. He was the inaugural Equity, Diversity and Community Programs Coordinator at Carleton University, served as Co-Chair of the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Community of Practice for the Canadian Association of College and University Student Services and holds several certifications related to equity, diversity, inclusion, anti-racism and community engagement.
